Langtang Trek

Overview

Langtang trek is the home of Red Pandas, hospitable Tamang people, mountains and the gods. It just not is naturally rich, which almost every trekking destination in Nepal is, but it is rich in biodiversity and as well in cultural diversity. This is one of the oldest yet one of the most primitive treks in the country. It always has been in the rain shadows of 2 trekking giants Annapurna and Everest. It may not offer the views of many 8000 meter mountains but it surely will take your breath away.

Unlike other trekking destinations, you will not have to travel far to begin walking. Langtang lies within 30 kilometers of linear distance from Kathmandu and one can easily access the Langtang trek from the ease of Sundarijal; hill top on the outskirts of Kathmandu. However, we begin our trek from the trek put in destination of Syabrubesi or Dhunche and make a loop to get the best of the region.

Once you enter the national park, you will witness that you are in the home of Tamang people, who are skilled craftsmen of wooden work. On the other hand, the roads are replaced by lush green forests and the bustling towns make their way for chortens and prayer flags. Langtang trek is not just famous amongst the trekkers but also amongst  pilgrims who walk once in a year, on the day of Janai Purnima to perform the rituals of Sacred thread ceremony. It may seem like langtang is all about people and culture, which is right in a way but wrong in other. If you are a flower lover and love butterflies and birds, this is your heaven. Langtang national park has the highest recorded butterfly species and is also know for the blossom of wild flowers. Not mentioned earlier but along the way, you will come across several vantage points from where you can witness around 250 kilometers of mountain stretch. Among the mountains that dominate the Langtang’s blue sky are  mostly 7000 meter and one of them is an 8000 meter mountain which lies in Tibet.

Langtang trek not just brings you closer to nature but also to human lives. Specially of those who have been affected by the 2015 earthquake. Your decision to visit langtang will also help people get back on their feet. In this trek route, you will see the terrain, culture and a beautiful experience in the highland of Nepal. Book this trek today with Crown Earth Trek and hear stories of people in the region!
