Where is Nepal ?

Nepal is geographically positioned in between India and China. It lies in central Asia and is a landlocked country.

How can I get in the country?

There are 2 ways to get in Nepal, first by air and second by road. The only international airport is located in the capital city of Kathmandu and around 30 international airlines fly to Nepal on everyday basis. You can as well get in the country by major port of entries like Panitanki, Raxaul, Jogbani, Sunauli or Mahendranagar.

How many days can I stay in Nepal or how many days visa can I get upon arrival?
Upon arrival you can get 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 day visa but the maximum number of days you can stay in a country is 150 days in a year. You can either fill your visa application form online or on site. Visa is upon arrival for many countries. Please find more details on www.nepalimmigration.gov.np/

Is Nepal safe to travel ?

Nepal is one of the most safest destinations to travel. As per several publications and travel magazines it has made it to the top of the list because travel safety being one of the main reasons. Other than minor offences in bustling cities it is very peaceful and welcoming. In terms of natural catastrophe, Nepal had been hit hard in 2015 by the earthquake of the century but it has now recovered and hardly you can find traces of the quake.

Is Nepal safe for Female travellers ?

Nepal is considered as one of the most safest destinations for Travel in the world. Although being very close to India, it is completely different in terms of tourist safety. There are 100’s of solo women travellers coming down to Nepal every year. Make sure not offend the culture by wearing very short shorts and revealing clothes.

What currencies are accepted in Nepal ?

All major currencies are accepted in Nepal. However, for all government work dollar is the preferred currency. Nevertheless, you can exchange all major currencies in money changer. In terms of Indian currency, it is accepted easily in major cities. Please remember not to carry denomination beyond 100 rupees in Indian currency.

There are over 25 financial institutions with ATM’s. The banks are open Sunday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Depending upon the bank ATM you use, it can dispense anywhere in between 40,000 to 1,00,000 in Nepalese currency. ATMS are 24 hours.

When is the best season to be in Nepal ?
