Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek

Overview

Sir Edmund Hillary, the person who made it possible, the person who made believe to the world that conquering Everest is not a dream any more. Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek is also known as Tenzing Hillary Trail and we may not need to tell you why. This was the first ever trail that lead to successful expedition of the world’s highest peak, Everest. It is not just one another trek in Nepal but it is the trek of Nepal.

Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek begins on foot from Jiri. Unlikely the short Everest base camp trek, you do not fly in to Lukla airport and begin trekking. Rather, you will take a ride on the unwinding roads of Nepal just like the two legends Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and their convoy did. What makes this trek special? This trek is a little significant because with the advancement of flights in the Everest region, this trek has been somewhat abandoned and still remains like it used to be back in days. The houses you accommodate in are primitive, the lives of the sherpas have not been altered, the practices still remain intact and the most interesting of all, you will be overwhelmed by the stories told by the locals that dates back to initial days.

If you opt for Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek, we guarantee that you will witness and enjoy more than the regular trek to the base camp of Everest. First of all, you will make your way through lush green forest that is home to several wild animals. Second, at one point, this trek joins with the mainstream trail. Meaning, you will see what others see and on top, you will also see what many do not.

The most loved of all the fact of starting the trek from Jiri is, it can be done throughout the year and is not dependent on the weather. Furthermore, being in the mountain you may want to feel the nature and since the influx is very less, you will be all by yourself and the sound of nature. Alike all the treks in Nepal, even this trek is blessed with several vantage point. You not only see the mountains from a stone throw distance but also from distance. Seeing the mountains from the distance offers you a different perspective. Last but not the least, there are several cultural trek developed in the initial stage of this trek which also means that there will be several encounters with cultural practices. Jiri to EBC is the most classical trek in existence in Nepal.
