Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Welcome to Nepal ! A representative from Crown Earth will receive you at the airport and drop you at your hotel. On this day you will not do much but relax and go around your hotel location. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Thank you for choosing Ghorepani Poon hill Trek as your next adventure destination! If you booked this trek long time back your permits are ready before you arrive but if it is a last minute booking you permits will be made on this day. While the back office is busy making permits on the back end, you will get involved in sightseeing some UNESCO world heritage sites. Sometime in the day, you will as well do last minute preparation, packing and purchase if necessary. In the evening you will meet your guide and your guide will brief you about the trek. On this day you will grab your breakfast as early as 6:00 a.m. in the morning and head towards tourist Bus Park. You will board a tourist bus to Pokhara and depart from Kathmandu at around 7 am. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through coiled with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. The drive to Pokhara on one of the major highways is exhilarating and you can witness beautiful views of never leaving tributaries, lush green hills and roadside settlements. Overnight in Pokhara.

You will spend the first hours of your day driving to the trek put in destination of Nayapul. After around 2 hours on the road you unload your luggage and walk for about 15 minutes to Birethanti. Before entering the ACAP you get your permits checked at Birethanti. Once officially on the trail, you walk on the jeep track and make easy ascend to Tikhedhunga. Today’s hike is a very good warm up hike for the days to come. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

From Tikhedhunga the first remarkable village that you will reach is Ulleri. From here you will begin your uphill journey on beautifully crafted manmade staircase. You will traverse on 3500 of these steps and it is physically challenging. Along the way you will witness beautiful settlements of Magar communities, pasture lands and furthermore the deep serene forest. Furthermore, you walk through beautiful oak and Rhododendron forest, 2 crystal clear streams and a ridge before we make a final and short climb to Ghorepani. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Before continuing our journey to the day’s trek you will take a short detour to the famed viewpoint of Poon hill. Once on the top, you will witness beautiful Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif and other mountains that create 180 degree view. After brief moment on the summit of Poon hill, we head down to our hotel to collect our luggage and then begin the journey. Once on the trail, you begin walking downhill through dense forest of rhododendron, oak and fir. Lookout for wild animals as there are high chances of spotting some species of monkeys and deer. Overnight in Tadapani.

The majority of trail goes through the deep and dense forest of Rhododendron and oak. These dense forests beautifully intermingle with stunningly beautiful settlements of indigenous Gurung communities. Once in Ghandruk, you do not accommodate in any teahouse but rather accommodate in a home stay experience the culture, life and cuisine of Gurung people first hand. On the other hand, the view of the mountains in the Annapurna makes the village very picturesque. Overnight in Ghandruk.

You begin walking down towards Kuimi and further to Syali Bazar, on and off on jeep track and old trail. Further down, you will branch off to the easy trail that leads to Birethanti. From here, you checkout from ACAP and cross the rustic bridge and take a vehicle to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Early in the morning you head towards tourist Bus Park and board a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through curvy roads of hilly terrain with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. Once in Kathmandu the representative of Crown Earth Treks and expedition will transfer you to your hotel. Your Ghorepani Poon hill trek officially comes to an end once we wave you off at your hotel.

The airport representative from Crown Earth Team will transport you to Kathmandu International Airport around 3 hours before your scheduled flight. You will then depart from Nepal with the most delightful memories and stories to tell.
