Annapurna Circuit Trek

Welcome to Nepal ! A representative from Crown Earth will receive you at the airport and drop you at your hotel. On this day you will not do much but relax and go around your hotel location. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Thank you for choosing Annapurna Circuit Trek as your next adventure destination! If you booked this trek long time back your permits are ready before you arrive but if it is a last minute booking you permits will be made on this day. While the back office is busy making permits on the back end, you will get involved in sightseeing some UNESCO world heritage sites. Sometime in the day, you will as well do last minute preparation, packing and purchase if necessary. In the evening you will meet your guide and your guide will brief you about the trek. It is going to be a long drive and you are going to start as early as 6 am in the morning. The first vehicle is going to take you to a small town of Besisahar. This part of the travel is done on a national highway and more or less you are going to traverse on a black topped road. You will make a transfer from Besisahar and on a small 4 wheel drive SUV. This part of the road is adventurous all the way to Chyamche.

We will leave Chyamche on foot. After crossing a suspension bridge, the trail takes us uphill through the Oak forest. We’ll continue walking for a while until it emerges into a valley. We pass the village of Kodo and ascend to the village of Dharapani. Overnight at Guesthouse, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

The trail climbs along the mule track into a fir forest and then follows the river alongside the higher oak and maple trees. On the way you will be awe- struck by spectacular views of major Himalayan peaks. Overnight at Guesthouse, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

You ascend 600 meters from Chame to Pisang within 4-6 hours. With the transitory view of Manaslu on the south, you will make your way through Tibetan communities. These exuberant communities showcases beautiful manis; prayer apparatus of Buddhist followers, locally made chortens, Gompas, prayer flag draped stones and houses, field of Buckwheat and large apple orchards. This will be another day where you will ascend 600 meters back to back. The trail is fairly difficult and on this day you will make your way through the fields of buckwheat, barley and potato and pine scented forest. On this day you pass through remarkable Kani’s (gate) to rustic settlements on the lap of Annapurna massif. Overnight in Manang.

This day is set aside as acclimatization you will rest and adapt to the altitude. However, even on a rest day you will take this opportunity to walk around and observe the life and culture of Manang-pa; people of Manang. You will explore the archaic monasteries and thangka’s that dates back to some 500 years. If the time permits, you may also hike short for a glacial lake named Gangapurna. Manang also has hotels and restaurants which serves coffee and bakery. Overnight in Manang.

The hike gets strenuous from this day onwards because of the altitude kicks in. On this day you ascend all the way to Yak Kharka but you will make your way through one of the most amazing views of Annapurna on our south. Furthermore, you will traverse through Tengi; the last permanently inhabited village in Manang and make your way through pastures and miniature forest of Juniper, roses and barberry to Yak Kharka. Here, you can enjoy yak cheese and dishes made out of it. Overnight in Yak Kharka.

The day includes strenuous hike 600+ meters and requires following some steep and sheer trails up and down hill. Taking the narrow trail exposed to the slopes and crossing the wooden bridge we make to Thorung phedi. Thorung phedi is a valley, which is not inhabited but offers a majestic view of surrounding cliffs. We hike uphill further for an hour until we reach Thorung High pass where we rest for the night and acclimatize before we ascent to Thorung-La pass.

This is the most difficult section of the trek. You will begin this trek before dawn to make it on the other side at Muktinath. The main idea behind starting the day early is to make sure that you will cross Thorung – La pass before the sun is up and wind is high. You ascend 650+ meters to Thorung – la, one of the highest man walk able passes in the world. Thorung La is as well one of the highly acclaimed vantage points. The view of the mountains in the periphery is of the premier quality. From Thorung – La you make a sheer drop 1600 meters toward the holy shrine of Muktinath. Overnight in Muktinath.

From Muktinath the trail is gradual and more or less downhill. You would start descending down to Jharkot and watch Kagbeni from the ridge and further walk towards Jomsom. Mostly, you follow the jeep track all the way to Jomsom; a beautiful mountain settlement placed on the laps of Nilgiri Mountain. You call it a day in Jomsom and enjoy the day and the modern amenities this small town has to offer. While you relax, our guide will confirm the flight for next morning. Overnight in Jomsom.

You will board a flight early in the morning. The flight with beautiful views of Annapurna takes no more than 20 minutes to reach Pokhara. Once in Pokhara you may enjoy the much missed hot showers, sun bathing or munch on bakeries and beer. Overnight in Pokhara.

Early in the morning you head towards tourist Bus Park and board a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through curvy roads of hilly terrain with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. Once in Kathmandu the representative of Crown Earth Treks and expedition will transfer you to your hotel. Your Annapurna Circuit trek officially comes to an end once we wave you off at your hotel.

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A Crown Earth representative will escort us to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
